Mt. Rainier Gondola Scenic Rides
The Mt. Rainier Gondola is now closed for Fall 2011 until the snow flies, but Crystal Mountain will have the Gondola open next Fall —and, of course, foot passengers are welcome on the Mt. Rainier Gondola any other time of the year.
This is a must do for visitors to Washington state and everyone else! You’ll be rewarded at the top with one of the best views of Mt. Rainier anywhere! And, during your 9-minute ride, you can view wildlife meadows, listen to babbling mountain streams, or keep an eye out for elk grazing or fox scurrying after rabbits.
Crystal’s new Mt. Rainier Gondola opened January 1, 2011 and it’s one of the most exciting things to happen here in years. Now everyone—grandmothers, hikers, babies in strollers—can experience a view that makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. Have a gourmet lunch or Sunset Dinner at the Summit House Restaurant, or grab a quick snack and sit at the outdoor picnic tables. Hikers can even take advantage of the “lift” to explore high alpine trails. The Northway Trail (with beautiful wildflower meadows and incredible views) is a personal favorite of ours.
