The snowshoeing is fabulous up here in the spring.  It’s the time of year we pull out our snowshoes and start exploring everywhere!  We love snowshoeing up Crystal’s East Peak for gorgeous views of Crystal Mountain and Mt.Rainier—or up the Quicksilver Lift to Silver Basin.

Around Alta Crystal Resort, the snow often lingers on the trails until sometime in April.  Once it starts to melt, it’s time to pull out the hiking boots, head up the Deep Creek Trail towards Noble Knob and hike until you hit the snow. 

Once Highway 410 opens into the Park, the Crystal Lakes Trail becomes a favorite of locals.  And, as soon as Chinook Pass opens, snowshoes are the best way to get around Naches Peak Loop in the early season.

We rent snowshoes right here at Alta Crystal Resort, for a very nominal $20 plus tax per day, including poles.  Trust us.  Once you try snowshoeing, you’ll understand why it is America’s fastest growing winter sport!
