Mt. Rainier Gondola Winter Scenic Rides
Now everyone -- skiers and non-skiers alike -- can enjoy one of the best views of Mt. Rainier anywhere!
The Mt. Rainier Gondola is open daily during winter months. Each enclosed passenger car holds 8 passengers for the 10-minute ride from the base of Crystal Mountain to its 6872' summit. You'll cross a winter wonderland, with gorgeous views of all the surrounding peaks and skiers and snowboarders far below. The ride itself is impressive, but the view from the top will take your breath away. As you step outside on to the landing platform, you'll be rewarded with Mt. Rainier in all its glory, plus 360-degree views of all the Cascades, stretching from Mt. Baker in the north to Mt. Adams in the south.
Many guests just ride the Mt. Rainier Gondola for the view, but there are other options. Have a gourmet lunch at the Summit House, Washington's highest restaurant. Rent snowshoes at the base and snowshoe along the ridgeline. Crystal even offers snowshoe tours on weekends.
