There are great mountain bike trails around here to explore, as well as a whole network of Forest Service gravel roads (with minimal traffic) that are fun to ride.
We rent light duty mountain bikes here at a very reasonable cost, and these are good for exploring some of the less aggressive trails or Forest Service Roads.
If you'd like to tackle some of the more aggressive trails, Enumclaw Ski & Mountain Company has full suspension mountain bikes for rent -- and also some road bikes -- with portable bike carriers.
We can give you lots of maps and suggestions when you check in. The Skookum Flats trail is a personal favorite for more advanced riders. Beginners and intermediates will love the trails behind the Buck Creek air strip (just a couple of miles away) and we also love to explore the old Forest Service cabins by riding miles of gravel roads.
There are also great places for road bikes too. One of our favorite things to do is ride from the White River Campground to Sunrise before the road opens to cars. It’s a real thigh burner—2000 feet in 10 miles—but the views and solitude are well worth it. In fact, we've seen bears, elk and grouse on our early spring adventures. Very exciting. Of course, you can still ride it after the Sunrise road opens , but we just like having it to ourselves:)
How about a nice ride down to Greenwater (12 miles each way) for ice cream at Wapiti Woolies; a sandwich from Greenwater Outfitters Deli or a burger and beer at the Naches Bar & Grill.
